1920s to 1950s Fashion
Join the 1920s to 1950s fashion team on a trip back in time where we will help you find old ways to a brand new You!
What do we mean by fashion?
When we say '50s fashions do you think of poodle skirts, little black dresses, Dior, pencil skirts, circle skirts, Chantilly lace and a pretty face and... well you get the picture?
If you do, that's peachy keen because you will find all that here.
But when we say 1950s fashion, we mean everything that is fashionable in the 1950s (or should we say "was" - it never feels like "was" to us). Ford Thunderbirds, boomerang-pattern counter-tops, Doris Day, Marilyn Monroe and that new kid who sings Jailhouse Rock. Believe us, he's going places, that kid.
All this is what we mean by 1950s fashion and all of it is fair game for this site.
When we say 1920s fashion, do you think of short skirts, bee-stung lips, cloche hats and kohl-eyes? Bing on the button! That's our territory.
But we also mean the Lindy Hop, flagpole-sitting, goldfish-eating (all right, scratch goldfish eating), Ford Model Ts, the latest jass - or jazz - and that painted mouse that can move and do just about everything. Believe us, it's going places, that mouse.
All this is what we mean by 1920s fashion, and all of it falls within our jolly old remit (if remit is the word I'm groping for).
And then there are the 1930s and 1940s. Marcel waves, platform shoes, Garbo, the Andrews Sisters and if we're not frightfully careful we could have the Great War all over again. Yes, one or two things definitely happened between the 1920s and the 1950s.
We'll be following fashion in all its forms there too.
So you see, as they say, we have our work cut out for us. Well that's just ticketty-boo by us, we love it all. And all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride.
We promise not to make you get out and push unless it's really necessary.
